Two formal recitals are held each year. These performances give students an opportunity to perform for audiences and maintain specific goals. We strongly encourage participation, as the recital provides an opportunity to experience the most important aspect in music study: sharing music. Because this is to be an enjoyable and positive learning experience, it is with the teacher’s approval that a student will be allowed to perform. Please refer to school calendar for recital dates.
A Fall and Spring recital are provided to all performance students. At the end of the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, all students perform for a jury. They are critiqued by the staff of their focused instrument. This allows for consistent monitoring of a student’s growing musical ability. Students are also eligible to compete in various music competitions throughout the year.
