The Sing and Play Curriculum, by Ann Collins and Linda Cleary, was written
especially for pre-school, kindergarten and non-reading aged children.
Three books are used during this 18-month course:
| Introduces the student to the white keys and their relationship to the twoand three black key groups as well as note values, dynamic symbols and rhythms. |
| Introduces note reading, major and minor sounds, staff signs and symbols. |
| Extended note reading, advanced dynamic symbols, major 5 finger patterns,intervallic note reading, playing on the grand staff with hands together, and concepts of melodic and harmonic structures. Note: This series requires that the student has a full sized piano by the beginning of Book 2 which starts approximately six months into the course. |
